take on the task of making the Word of God come alive by proclaiming the Word in
the midst of the People assembled at Eucharist or in prayer. In this Ministry
the primary requirement is the faithful commitment to reading, re-reading and
praying the Readings from Scripture throughout the days prior to the assigned
celebration. Some of the skills needed for this Ministry can come through
patient training, such as clarity of speech, proper pace of reading, movement
and posture; other skills can be developed through practice and careful
