The word “ministry” means “service”. The mission of the whole Church is,
in turn, a function of the mission of Jesus Christ; proclamation of the Kingdom
in word, in worship, in witness, and in service.
Parish Pastoral Council - through ongoing
pastoral planning, maintain the integrity of the parish mission and the goals
and objectives related to it.
LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
Altar Servers – girls and boys who assist the priest and deacon during the

Environment Ministry – responsible for decorating the sanctuary area through the
Liturgical seasons. Please contact Doreen Bacile.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist - assist in the distribution of the
Body and Blood of Christ to the parish community.

Hospitality Minister (Ushers) – men & women who greet, especially looking to
welcome strangers and make them feel at home and assist during mass. Please

Ministry of Lector – make the Word of God come alive by proclaiming it. Please

Music Ministry - people who have the gift of music and are willing to support
the Liturgical prayer of the Parish Community

Ministry of the Prayer Writer
– creates Prayers of the Faithful for Mass
including the Penitential Rite, the General Intercessions and the prayer of

Sacristan – ensure that the sanctuary is prepared for Liturgy. Please contact

Ministry of the Table of God - collect, launder and iron altar linen. Please

Baptism Preparation - make new parents feel welcome, encourage all parents to
share their faith with their child and assist at the actual baptisms. Please

Evening Vespers- Prayers of the Universal Church prepared by the community of

Wedding Preparation - help engaged couples prepare for the fidelity,
procreation, and permanence of sacramental marriage.

Catechist Ministry – welcomes and invites men and women to consider
sharing their faith with each other and with the young people of Good Shepherd.

programs in the diocese, such as Catholic Charities and various Diocesan
